5 Keys of Ideal Home Architecture: The Floor Plan Arrangements

Something that is inseparable from home architecture is the floor plan. The floor plan can be described as the scaled diagram of a building from above. It involves single rooms, the entire building, or a certain floor of a building; including the measurements, furniture, and any other appliances.

In the home architecture world, the floor plan has significant roles, such as determining and designing the wiring system, plumbing system, furniture layout, and so on. Besides, this floor plan helps the real estate agents to sell and rent the property better as they are able to read every detail of the building and give a brief explanation to the customers.

Before creating the floor plan, consider the below characteristics to get the best:

1. Flexible yet Versatile

While planning the rooms, think of the future. For example, the kid’s room can be transformed into the home office in the future.

2. Ideal Layout

For example, the kitchen may be an open space or connected to the dining room, while the entertainment room should have a distance from the bedrooms, and the bathroom should not face the living room or the dining room.

3. Ideal Size According to Your Need

We should recognize that everyone has a different size standard of room size, based on their family number, habit, and others.

4. Priorities and Lifestyle

Calculate every possibility and how you will make it. For example, if you work from home, you should create a quiet room with enough light, as well as the laundry room should be reachable yet hidden so the guests won’t see your laundering activities and stuff.

5. Home Architecture

Home Architecture should be balanced with Practical Consideration. This is about how you and your family feel comfortable and safe inside and outside the home. If you have toddlers under the roof, make sure you avoid putting small and breakable accessories in the range.

So how to start creating the ideal floor plan?

Determine the area. The size and shape should be drawn based on their real condition.

Measure the whole thing, including the walls, pertinent furniture, doors, etc.

Draw the doors for every room.

Draw the architectural features, such as the doors, the windows, the unchangeable appliances, etc.

Draw the furniture.

Happy drawing!
